Enterovirus A71 (EV-A71) is a major causative agent of hand, foot, and mouth disease, with severe cases potentially leading to neurological complications and death, making it a significant global public health concern.Despite growing international attention, no vaccines or antiviral therapies are currently available to prevent or treat EV-A71 infections.Rapid diagnosis is crucial to curb EV-A71 transmission and safeguard public health.However, effective detection is challenging due to the virus's structural and functional complexity, as well as its genetic diversity.This paper comprehensively reviews recent advancements in biosensor technologies that provide enhanced selectivity and sensitivity for EV-A71 detection.These developments offer promising approaches for detecting EV-A71 and may significantly impact future advancements in high-performance biosensors aimed at managing EV-A71 infections.
