Comparison of pronunciation based on the palatal surface contour of maxillary complete dentures: a case reportThe primary objectives of complete denture treatment are the recovery of mastication, esthetics, and phonetics.Among these, phonetics is often overlooked despite its strong correlation with patient satisfaction.In maxillary complete dentures, phonetics can be influenced by various factors such as the vertical dimension, denture tooth arrangement, palatal surface contour, and the length of posterior extension.Among them, the contour of the palatal surface plays a crucial role in the articulation of consonants by influencing tongue position and movement.In natural dentition, the anterior palate is convex, transitioning to a concave shape posteriorly, forming a reverse curve.Incorporating this morphology into denture design may contribute to improved phonetic outcomes.This clinical report presents a case in which three palatal contour designs were evaluated, and the design associated with the greatest patient satisfaction was selected as the
