The Coastal and Ocean Engineering Lab participated in an international Workshop on Nature-based Solution for Coastal Hazard Mitigation hosted in Kyoto University, Japan. The workshop presented several advanced research results related to nature-based solution and coastal disaster prevention conducted by two laboratories in both Hanyang University and Kyoto University. The workshop pointed out several aspects for research collaboration between two laboratories.

Prof. Shin and COEL researcher participated anual conference hold by Korean Society of Ocean Engineering in Mokpo, Korea. Prof. Shin have a presentation for a special sessions of coastal erosion prevention. In his talk, a new technology of implementing hybrid structures to protect coastal communities have been investigated.
