Obesity in adolescents is a global health concern associated with several diseases and complications in adulthood. Obesity has been reported to be strongly associated with oral habits. To investigate the association between tooth brushing during lunchtime and the prevalence of obesity among adolescents in a nationally representative sample of South Korean adolescents. Data from the 2018-2021 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey were used in this cross-sectional study. Obesity was measured based on the body mass index. The chi-square test was used to investigate and compare tooth brushing habits during lunchtime in the study population, and multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to analyze the relationship between tooth brushing during lunchtime and the prevalence of obesity. The odds of obesity were lower in the group that brushed their teeth during lunchtime (adjusted odd ratio: 0.90, 95% confidence interval: 0.88-0.93). Furthermore, the odds of obesity were significantly higher in high school students; boys; those with a low household income, low subjective health status awareness, medical history (asthma or atrophy), and history of sealant use; and those who responded after the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. A significant inverse relationship was found between tooth brushing habits during lunchtime and the prevalence of obesity. This relationship was consistent regardless of socioeconomic and lifestyle factors.

This study showed that electronic health record-generated APCS can provide useful information on patients' severity and nursing activities to measure workload estimation. Additional research is needed to develop and implement a real-world EHR-based PCS system to accommodate for direct and indirect nursing care while considering diverse population and dynamic healthcare system.

Nursing leaders and policymakers should understand that providing incentives could affect hospitals' employment behaviour change under the market-oriented healthcare system. For developing future nursing policies, these strategies should be considered appropriately.

Although the precise mechanisms remain unclear, the primary disease should be considered an important determinant of patient satisfaction. Future research should take into account the impact of specific diseases on patient satisfaction when designing studies or interpreting results.

Satisfaction with treatment outcomes and convenience of the medical facility were the most important predictor of overall satisfaction and intention to recommend, respectively. These findings reinforce that prioritizing the clinical effectiveness of care-rather than focusing solely on service-related features-is essential for achieving high patient satisfaction. Because of utilizing a large-scale dataset and identifying predictors ranked by importance, this study is expected to contribute effectively to decision-making processes regarding the future development and improvement of healthcare institutions.

The AMU hospitalist care model was associated with remarkable reductions in multiple costs. The results of the sensitivity analysis indicated that the net-benefit estimates of AMU hospitalist care were similar to the baseline estimates. Thus, the overall net-benefit of AMU hospitalist care was found to be largely positive.

Purpose: To estimate the number of practicing nurses required to resolve staffing differences between capital and non-capital regions and analyze the relationship between regional differences in staffing and salary.Methods: Using public data on population, patients, newly licensed nurses, practicing nurses, and annual salaries, regional differences were analyzed in newly licensed nurses per population, practicing nurses per population, practicing nurses per patient (i.e., staffing level), and salary.The number of additionally required practicing nurses was estimated by multiplying staffing differences by the number of patients in the lower-staffed region.Results: During 2002~2022, 71,107 and 243,611 newly licensed nurses were supplied, while the number of practicing nurses increased by 91,886 and 88,070 in the capital and non-capital regions, respectively.The non-capital region had more practicing nurses per population, whereas the capital region had more practicing nurses per patient.In 2020, 31,330 practicing nurses were additionally required in the non-capital region.Salaries were higher in the capital region, and regional salary differences increased during 2011~2020.Regional salary differences were associated with regional staffing differences and the number of additionally required practicing nurses.Conclusion: Government and health insurance policies are required to encourage hospitals in the non-capital region to improve staffing and salaries.

Purpose: This study aimed to identify changes in the regional distribution of nurses from 2011 to 2020 and to measure the degree of geographic inequality in the distribution of nurses.Methods: National statistics from 2011 to 2020 were used to analyze the distribution of practicing nurses and nursing graduates by region.The degree of geographic inequality in these distributions was measured using the Gini coefficient.Results: Between 2011 and 2020, the number of nursing graduates increased significantly in the non-capital regions and medically underserved areas.However, non-capital regions observed a smaller increase in the number of practicing nurses than in the number of nursing graduates produced, while capital regions experienced a larger increase in the number of practicing nurses than in the number of nursing graduates produced.Furthermore, the degree of geographic inequality in the distribution of practicing nurses worsened between 2011 and 2020.Conclusion: Effective policies to prevent the outflow of rural nurses are necessary to mitigate geographical inequality in the distribution of nurses.
