Sustainability of green hydrogen: A viewpoint in Pakistan

그린 수소는 저탄소 경제로의 전환 과정에서 모든 국가가 지속가능발전목표를 달성하기 위해 핵심적인 역할을 수행할 수 있는 독보적인 잠재력을 지닌, 청정하고 지속가능한 에너지 원천으로 제안되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 파키스탄에서 그린 수소를 활용하여 지속가능성을 강화하는 방안에 대한 관점을 제시한다. 재생에너지 자원(예: 태양광 및 풍력)은 파키스탄에 풍부하게 이용 가능하므로, 재생에너지 자원과 연계된 그린 수소의 생산은 의식적으로 이루어진다. 대표적 사례로 파키스탄 신드(Sindh)에서 그린 수소 프로젝트가 발표되었는데, 수소는 태양광 또는 풍력에서 생산된 재생 전력으로 구동되는 물 전기분해를 통해 생산된다. 파키스탄에서 그린 수소 생산에 대한 순환 경제적 접근의 잠재력은 정책 개발, 공공 및 민간의 참여, 공공 수요, 대중의 인식의 관점에서 논의된다. 그린 수소는 파키스탄의 미래를 비추는 ‘그린 라이트’라고 할 수 있는데, 이는 기후변화 완화와 동시에 잠재적으로 자국의 경제를 부양하는 데 기여할 수 있기 때문이다. 본 연구가 제공하는 통찰은 파키스탄을 위한 향후 어떤 그린 수소 로드맵의 추가 개발에도 유용하게 활용될 수 있다.
