배성욱 교수 연구실은 대장·직장암 환자를 위한 최소침습 및 로봇수술 기술의 고도화를 핵심 목표로 합니다. 특히 단일공 복강경수술(single-port)과 최신 로봇 플랫폼을 기반으로, 기존 다포트 수술로는 구현하기 어려웠던 정교한 접근성과 섬세한 해부 조작을 확보하는 데 초점을 맞춥니다. 교수는 관절형 수술기구(ArtiSential® 등), 고난도 직장 절제술, Denonvilliers’ fascia 맞춤 절제와 같은 혁신적 술기를 임상에 적용하고 그 효과를 체계적으로 분석해왔습니다. 또한 복잡한 직장암 수술에서 문제될 수 있는 시야 확보, 깊은 골반 접근, 신경 보존 등 기술적 난제를 극복하기 위한 수술 프로세스 개선 연구를 지속하고 있습니다. 단일공·로봇수술의 장점인 통증 감소, 상처 최소화, 빠른 회복을 실제 임상결과와 연계하여 검증하며, 안전성과 재현성을 높이기 위한 프로토콜 개발에도 주력하고 있습니다. 이러한 연구는 실제 임상에서 수술 시간 단축, 합병증 감소, 환자 삶의 질 향상으로 이어지고 있으며, 향후 국내외 의료기관에서 적용 가능한 다학제적 수술 표준화 모델 구축을 목표로 발전하고 있습니다. This laboratory focuses on advancing minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques to improve the precision, safety, and clinical outcomes of colorectal cancer treatment. A major research direction involves optimizing single-port laparoscopic surgery and state-of-the-art robotic systems to achieve surgical access and delicate anatomical dissection that are difficult with conventional multi-port methods. The team actively applies and evaluates articulated instruments such as ArtiSential®, customized Denonvilliers’ fascia excision, and technically demanding rectal resections to enhance surgical feasibility in anatomically complex pelvic environments. The laboratory also investigates solutions for common technical challenges in rectal cancer surgery—including secure visualization, deep pelvic access, and autonomic nerve preservation—to develop more reproducible and efficient surgical workflows. These innovations are continuously validated through clinical data that assess operative time, complication rates, postoperative pain, and functional recovery. Through this comprehensive research approach, the laboratory aims to establish evidence-based, standardized surgical models that can be adopted across institutions and ultimately contribute to improved patient recovery, reduced morbidity, and higher-quality colorectal cancer care.
