Biologically oriented preparation technique (BOPT) in the maxillary anterior teeth: a case reportThe Biologically Oriented Preparation Technique (BOPT) is a method for achieving both periodontal stability and favorable aesthetics through vertical tooth preparation, gingival curettage, immediate provisional restoration, and subsequent soft tissue adaptation to the prosthetic emergence profile. This case report details a 25-year-old male who presented with aesthetic concerns regarding a protruding prosthesis in anterior maxilla, a consequence of trauma and root canal treatment 10 years prior.Given the anatomical limitations for prosthetic correction alone, orthodontic treatment was first performed to optimize the position and angulation of the anterior teeth. The BOPT concept was then applied to the buccal aspect of the prepared teeth to address the protrusion. We report the successful outcome of an aesthetic restoration that achieved a natural emergence contour and maintained gingival stability, demonstrating the utility of BOPT even in cases with insufficient remaining radicular dentin.(
